Woman Who Strived To Be a Superwoman

We always look around for inspiration and that moral boost to push us up and bring back in the confidence within us when we feel loosen up while performing out and not getting in the results properly as we look forward to achieve the superwoman title. Here is a list of some Women from India itself who decided to make it work on their own. Who deemed to be different and let their name and success bloom amongst others.

Kiran Bedi- To start off the list we have the first lady IPS officer of the country, Kiran Bedi. The former Tennis player and a social activist hailing from Amritsar proved being a woman isn’t a liability to their family or on themselves. It is an asset if one can follow to do the right things in life. Winning the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1994 for the reforms she introduced in the Tihar jail and being the first Indian Woman to be appointed as the Police Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. Retired in 2007, Kiran Bedi still continues to be that ignition of positives in women and guide them to follow and do the right things in life.
Manasi Pradhan- Winning the “Outstanding Women Award” in 2011 from the United Nation’s UN Women and National Commission for Women, Manasi never had a lavish childhood. She used to travel 15km to achieve her schooling and being born in a poor family never stopped Manasi from striving to make a change. She became the first woman from her village to get a law degree. Later on, she founded the Nirbhaya Vahini and OYSS Women and Head the Honor for Women National Campaign, a nationwide movement to end violence against women in India.

Laxmi Agarwal- Often when we suffer from some abuse or attack we stop once if we don’t find any support from around or even we do we stop once we get the judgment in our favor. Laxmi is an exception to this case. She decided to take a step for all those who suffered from acid attacks just like her. She decided not to hide or just become quiet after her story had come to an end, she decided to influence others for not giving up. The director of Chhanv Foundation, a NGO dedicated to help the survivors of acid attacks in India; Laxmi received a 2014 International Women of Courage award by US First Lady Michelle Obama. She started a petition to curb the sales of acid in the Supreme Court to which the court agreed and passed on the notice to state and central government. Someone really look up to if you think of giving up.

We have just presented you three women, but there are many more women who have achieved the feast of superwoman by just being right, determined, confidence and that ignited flame to make a change.
