Judging someone by their facial hair, muscle,
body fat or fitness is a new disease infecting the generation. “Body shaming” is
one of the biggest problems in and for today’s generation. Society not only finds
it funny but quiet acceptable to judge a human body be it male or female. Body
shaming has become a problem for both genders. People now-a-days; flaunt their
weakness as their asset and take a dig at pulling them down on the basis of the
other person’s achieved feast or physical disabilities. Body shaming which is a
common parasite to both the gender, is an additional harassment for the women
given the fact they already bear so much of teasing around the streets.
Take some time out and think how you would feel if someone mocks you on the basis on of your facial hair, outgrown teeth, a crooked nail, being a zero figure or even if you are obese. You will feel ashamed, stressed out, maybe unfortunate to have something that either you have earned or were born with. You might feel like hiding and not being found ever for just that one flaw that people see in you. These instances of getting mocked or being a part of someone’s joke sometime leads to depression, self harm and in some cases the victim loses it all and commits suicide.
All these magazines and fashion books have made a
slim figure such a craze, that people are running for it either to achieve it
or to accept it. Women around the globe are cutting down their body meat to be
accepted in the society ignoring the fact that not everyone’s body can take on
this slaughter of health. Women judge one another too in these instances, and
not actually understand the phase until someone they know or they themselves
face it. “A bald woman will be laughed
at until people know she went through chemotherapy. A fat woman will be laughed
at until the news of being thyroid patient is out for everyone. A woman with
abs will be mocked irrespective of the fact she has achieved it through her
determination and hardwork. So to shut people up, should we carry boards for
the reason of our disabilities or feast?”
NO! If we decide to curl ourselves up, it’ll just
show that we are weak and accept that our disabilities or feasts as flaws of
ourselves which is wrong. We are the one who need to be strong from soul to
accept ourselves and not feel belittle if someone makes feel so. We need to
flaunt our disabilities with pride, because not everyone knows how to live and
survive with it, but you have done it and succeeded.
From today onward, every morning, be proud of
every scar, stretch mark, that extra fat or that extra muscle that you have.
Don’t bother your mind with what other think about you, they think because they
feel insecure to be dragged out of being an attention particle so they pull
jokes on you to make you the clown, but
no don’t let them letdown your morals. Don’t let them shame you for your body
and you too don’t do it to anyone.
