The biggest wave of pressure that
falls upon us generally comes from our parents or relatives. After a certain
age, they make it their fundamental duty to inculcate the desire of marriage
within you and they don’t mind drawing a picture of a scary future that you
might face if you don’t have a husband by your side. Worst of all, they won’t
leave a chance to express how disappointed they are with you. Guess what, it’s
not their mortal soul that you are putting at stake. It’s yours. They have
lived their complacent life full of husband and kids and
if you have been a super woman like good daughter then that is sufficient.
Whether you marry or not, people will bother about it only for a little time,
because something juicier will come along.
You may have the best boyfriend
in the world who treats you like a queen and may be you found one of those rare
species of a guy who is more than happy to receive you at the end of the aisle.
However, you are simply not curious about how wedding bells sound like. It is
ok to not pen down your commitment to the other person and get it notarized by
a judge to prove your seriousness. If there isn’t a social contract binding you
to one another and you are still together, it simply means that your super
woman like love needs no paper support.
Certain married couple continue
with their state even when they are extremely unhappy because just like
marriage, divorce also comes with extreme social judgement. So they end up
feeling stuck in a deal that they don’t want any more but can’t get out of.
Some people use marriage as a tool to tie their unwilling partner to them
because the process of divorce is more complicated and costly than a simple
break up. A super woman however, will let her partner have the choice of
walking away if things are not working out because she is neither insecure nor
defined by the relationship.
If you are a woman, who simply
wants to live alone, then do not fall for the glitter of marriage assuming that
it will grow on you. A happy single super woman like life is any day a happier
place than the mess of an unhappy marriage.
